UNION, NJ – The MTN (Meet the Need) Organization was on hand Tuesday giving back to the community and helping those in need while handing out meals and food at Jefferson School.

MTN Organization co-founder Reggie Anderson said, “this is something near and dear to all of us because of COVID.” He said his organization has heard many stories of those in need. “They’ve been furloughed, they’ve lost their jobs,” said Anderson. “They’re not only taking care of themselves, they’re taking care of other family members.”

Each car that drove up to Jefferson School on Tuesday afternoon received a complete meal for four people (or more if needed) of sliced roast turkey, pan gravy, steamed green beans, and mashed potatoes. Also provided were frozen chicken and ground beef.Sign Up for Union NewsletterOur newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the GooglePrivacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

Anderson said providing meals and food to those in need is “something that has an impact. It doesn’t matter where you come from. We want to make sure everyone who needs something gets something.”

The MTN Organization has partnered with Union in the past, said Union’s Assistant Business Administrator William Reyes, Jr. “Reggie and his wife are absolutely incredible,” Reyes said. “We appreciate them holding this event in Union for our community. It’s very much appreciated.”
